NFL  > Pittsburgh Steelers  > STEELERS VS BRONCOS PREDICTIONS
November 5, 2009, 10:24 PM
Thank goodness the bye week is behind us. Monday night Steelers VS Broncos at Mile High Stadium. The Steelers are coming off a bye week and the Broncos are coming off a beat down at the hands of the Ravens last week. It has been reported , but not written in stone yet, that the Steelers may be without Clarke and Kirschke. I for one do not think that Clarke should play. I do personally do not think they will let him play.. If not then he will be replaced by Carter and Mundy. Kirschke is still having issues with his leg that he hurt in the Vikes game. They already have him listed as queationable. If he cannot go he will be replaced by Eason and Ziggy. I havent heard any Bronco injuries so if any Bronco Fans can help me on this one I would appreciate it. I have read that Troy is feeling better and ready to go big plus for the boys in Black n Gold . Ben should be in good shape having a week to rest his arm and the offense having a week to rest. Could be interesting. I for on cannot wait. this is the one I have been looking forward to for a while. The Broncos are tough this year and The Steelers have had trouble beating them in Mile High I think I read the record is 13-6 in favor of the Broncs. I for one am not a stastics person. I know what I saw in their game last week. So give your predictions. Look forward to reading them.

I am taking the Steelers in this one. My reasoning is what I saw last week. If the Steelers D plays like they did against the Vikes, They basically run the same scheme as the Ravens with a little more to look at. They can make it for a long night for Orton if they can keep them in 3rd and long situations as the Ravens did last week they can win this. My only concern is can the O-line keep up the giood job they have been doing protecting Ben , If they keep Ben upright and his weapons get open , I think they can pull it off. I do know they have to take advantage of any chance they have to score . The red zone offense is going to have to be stout this week . Special teams are going to have to be on their A game . Eddie Royal run back 2 on the chargers. and Steelers special teams have allowed KO to taken back on them in the past 2 games. so that will be interesting, I think it will be a good one. I hope the Steelers keep the momentum going.

I'd say it's Logan's turn to take it to the bank against the Broncos! bigbentheory7 you are right about the special teams watching Royal on the other side of that coin. Against everyone on Inside the NFL, I too am picking the STEELERS notwithstanding their past record at mile-high. They are in good rythym, rested after the bye, and Troy is back. Should all make for excellent MNF! CHEERS!

I normally would take Pittsburgh being the Super Bowl Defending Champ. But I'm going with Denver at home, I think the crowd will be more into this game than any in recent past, and unless something drastic happens in the first quarter to take the crowd out of the game Denver will stay close and win.

I wish, should be an amazing game, a lot better than i thought i would be when lookin at the schedule in the begining of the year. I can see a 27-24 type win. Or maybe a 13 to 7 win, hopefullly in the steelers favor.

November 6, 2009  08:21 AM ET

It will probably be close even though it shouldn't. For some reason this year, the Steelers can't put games away completely and so we always have close games. But I believe Carter/Mundy will be better at taking Clark's place instead of Polomalu that there won't be too much of a let down there. I feel it will be Steelers 31-20 with a late score to put the game away.

Going with the Steelers on this one! Broncos let me down last week! Steelers 31 broncos 28
Troy gonna have a good game and be like white on rice! He is everywhere all the time! Go Steeler D.... can't wait to see you play the Colts in playoffs!

They let one go back on them against the Ravens and Logan is quicker than that guy Ive been waiting for him to do it again. We can hope.

I predict that if the Steelers lose by one, someone will be on this thread eight seconds after the game is over posting that the Steelers suck out loud and that they won't win another game this century.

November 6, 2009  10:28 AM ET

Or if they win by 35, it was a result of the other team's ineptitude. And the crooked and/or incompetent referees gave the game to them.

I think you are right, I smell another phantom tripping call, giving the Steelers the W.

November 6, 2009  10:57 AM ET

One thing that's being left out is that this game is being played on Monday Night and the Steelers are use to that - they usually play well. The Broncos haven't had this in a while so I don't expect them to play like they do on Sunday afternoon.

Playing the world champs - at home - on a Monday night? That's a lot of pressure.

I see both teams having trouble running the ball and both teams getting pressure on the QB's. Ben makes better plays outside the pocket than does Orton and he's harder to bring down. I think that's the difference in this game.

Steelers by 3.

After that, revenge match against Cincy.

You got that one right Rayne, That is another one I am looking forward to, and We get them also after the Ravens and Ocho Cino sent the defense deoderant so they will be fired up and out to bring the pain, So I am rooting for the Ravens to wear them out for us. LOL

November 6, 2009  03:44 PM ET

Update guys , Just read that we get Frazier back on special teams, that will help, Kirschke is out , but I think they have that covered well and it is looking like Tomlin is not gonna let Clarke play, i for one am glad of that, and Timmons hasnt practiced all week, but Fox has been doing well there, I think the loss of Clarke will be Ok because we have Troy, and I think Carter and Troy are a better combo than Carter and Clarke.

Rayne I agree with you on the comment about Ben being better out of the pocket than Orton that is where Big Ben shines, and I also reas that he is wanting to use the no huddle more, I think they will but not as much as Denver will be expecting and Orton is a short pass dink and dunk Qb , he is not known for the long balls that Ben has been unleashing as of late and I read a good artilce about Max Starks, he has the Bronco terror Dumervil, they mentioned that Dumervil is alot like Harrison on his attacks and that is who Max, has to block in practice , Ill get the link and put it up here it is a good read.

Steelers 23 Broncos 17

Gonna be a good game thats for sure. I think Denver will be better prepared for this game, they seemed out of rhythm on Offense against Baltimore from the start. McDaniels won't let that happen this week. Not saying it'll be any easier against the Steeler D. On Offense I can see it being tough for both teams to get going as both Defense's are stout this year. Special teams could definitely be key in this one.

I'm takin my Bronco's in a close on.... 17-14

As for injuries for Denver, the only one I've seen is Ryan Harris our starting right tackle is out.
